Role overview

TopSkills Lab is looking for energetic, confident and purpose-driven individuals to join our outreach team as Career Development Outreach Representatives.

The role involves representing TopSkills Lab within communities, institutions and professional networks by creating awareness, facilitating engagement forums and connecting people with relevant career development and skills opportunities.

The successful candidate will help create meaningful conversations around career development, work experience, job readiness and professional growth, while identifying individuals and groups who may benefit from TopSkills programmes and services.

This is a part-time, community-based opportunity suitable for students, graduates, young professionals, community mobilisers and individuals with strong networks and an interest in career development.

Responsibilities

  • Create and organise career and skills engagement forums within the community or professional network.
  • Mobilise students, graduates, job seekers and professionals to participate in relevant TopSkills programmes.
  • Create awareness of TopSkills Career Development Programmes, including the School-to-Work Transition Programme, Work Experience Programme and Job Readiness Programme.
  • Identify potential engagement opportunities with educational institutions, youth groups, churches, community organisations and professional networks.
  • Engage individuals to understand their career development needs and connect them with appropriate programmes.
  • Support career talks, information sessions, workshops and outreach activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, institutions, groups and potential partners.
  • Share approved TopSkills information through appropriate community and digital platforms.
  • Identify and communicate emerging career, skills and employment needs within the community.
  • Maintain simple records of outreach activities, engagement forums and people reached.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence engaging individuals and groups.
  • Passion for career development, education, skills development and creating opportunities.
  • Ability to mobilise people and organise small engagement forums.
  • Ability to build relationships within a community, institution or professional network.
  • Self-driven and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable using WhatsApp, social media and other digital communication platforms.
  • Previous experience in community mobilisation, outreach, marketing, sales, training or career guidance is an advantage but not mandatory.
