Concept Explanation

Clear findings presentation begins with consistent definitions. Every table should state what the figures represent: base salary, total cash, incentives, benefits, or total reward. Ambiguity weakens trust in the results.

Salary findings should include median, lower quartile, upper quartile, mean, min, max, and sample size. These fields provide both market position and distribution context. Without sample size, the reader cannot judge reliability.

Benefits findings are often mixed (quantitative and qualitative), so they require careful framing. For example, report the prevalence of medical cover and the typical pension contribution levels instead of listing unstructured descriptions.

Narrative matters. Tables show values, but short explanatory notes help decision-makers interpret the patterns. A brief comment explaining why a role’s range is wide or why benefits differ across organizations makes the report more useful.

Findings should be presented before recommendations. This separation allows readers to see the evidence clearly and prevents confusion between what the data says and what you propose to do about it.

The best reports balance structure and clarity: compact tables supported by concise, decision-focused commentary.
