b. Sampling methods
c. Estimation of population size
d. Human impact on environment
2. Conservation
a. Natural resources
b. Conservation methods
c. Environmental management
Part B: Project
Collect simple population data and propose conservation actions.
Project Title: Ecology and Conservation Survey
Objective: Apply sampling methods and conservation ideas to a local setting.
Project Instructions:
- 1. Choose a small area and list the organisms observed.
- 2. Use a simple sampling method (quadrat or count) to estimate population.
- 3. Identify one human impact affecting the environment.
- 4. Propose two conservation methods for the area.
- 5. Consult your coach where necessary.
Evidence to Submit:
- • Sampling notes and estimates.
- • Human impact observation.
- • Conservation proposals.
Submission
Part C: Training Others
Guide a peer on sampling and conservation.
Guidance:
- • Explain sampling methods and why they are used.
- • Practice estimating population size together.
- • Discuss conservation methods for local resources.
Reflection:
- • What did the learner understand well?
- • What needed more explanation?
- • What support do you need from your coach?
Submission
