Project Title: Radiation and Electronics Study

Objective: Explain radiation safety and basic semiconductor applications.

Project Instructions:

  1. 1. Describe radioactive decay and calculate one half-life problem.
  2. 2. List detectors of radiation and their uses.
  3. 3. Explain hazards and safety precautions of radioactivity.
  4. 4. Compare conductors, insulators, and semiconductors.
  5. 5. Describe a diode application (half or full wave rectifier).
  6. 6. Consult your coach where necessary.

Evidence to Submit:

  • • Half-life solution and notes.
  • • Radiation safety summary.
  • • Semiconductor and diode explanation.

Submission

Accepted: PDF, JPG, PNG, DOC, DOCX (max 8MB).

Part C: Training Others

Teach a peer about radiation and semiconductors.

Guidance:

  • • Explain types of radiation and detectors.
  • • Discuss fission and fusion in simple terms.
  • • Describe p-n junctions and diode use.

Reflection:

  • • What did the learner understand well?
  • • What needed more explanation?
  • • What support do you need from your coach?

Submission

Accepted: PDF, JPG, PNG, DOC, DOCX (max 8MB).

Part D: Assessment

Competency Levels:

1 = Expectations not met

2 = Partially met

3 = Satisfactorily met

4 = Excellently met

Coach assessment: Learner completes the self-assessment using the 1-4 scale. The coach prepares a short quiz or conversation (outside the system if needed) and assigns the coach score.

Self-assessment:

  • • Radioactive decay and half-life:
  • • Radiation hazards and precautions:
  • • Semiconductors and diode applications:
