c. Extensive reading: literary and non literary materials on contemporary issues, biographies, novels, plays, poems, short stories, reports
d. Comprehension skills: recall, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation, summary and note taking
Part B: Project
Build a reading portfolio that shows analysis and comprehension.
Project Title: Reading Skills Portfolio
Objective: Strengthen critical reading, comprehension, and summary skills.
Project Instructions:
- 1. Read one literary text and one non-literary text.
- 2. Identify tone, attitude, and main ideas in each text.
- 3. Distinguish facts from opinions with examples.
- 4. Write a summary and notes for each text.
- 5. Include a short reflection on reading strategies used.
- 6. Consult your coach where necessary.
