Part B: Project

Practice number systems and map a simple network.

Project Title: Number Systems and Network Map

Objective: Apply data representation and network concepts to real examples.

Project Instructions:

  1. 1. Convert two decimal numbers to binary and back.
  2. 2. Explain one example of data coding (ASCII or simple codes).
  3. 3. Draw a simple network diagram (home or school).
  4. 4. Label components and list two internet services used.
  5. 5. Consult your coach where necessary.

Evidence to Submit:

  • • Number conversion steps.
  • • Data coding example.
  • • Network diagram and notes.

Submission

Accepted: PDF, JPG, PNG, DOC, DOCX (max 8MB).

Part C: Training Others

Teach a peer about binary and networks.

Guidance:

  • • Demonstrate a simple decimal-to-binary conversion.
  • • Explain types of networks with examples.
  • • Identify basic network components.

Reflection:

  • • What did the learner understand well?
  • • What needed more explanation?
  • • What support do you need from your coach?

Submission

Accepted: PDF, JPG, PNG, DOC, DOCX (max 8MB).

Part D: Assessment

Competency Levels:

1 = Expectations not met

2 = Partially met

3 = Satisfactorily met

4 = Excellently met

Coach assessment: Learner completes the self-assessment using the 1-4 scale. The coach prepares a short quiz or conversation (outside the system if needed) and assigns the coach score.

Self-assessment:

  • • Number systems and binary:
  • • Data coding concepts:
  • • Network types and components:
