SECTION: PHYSICS

MODULE: 5

Part A: Units

1. Electricity

a. Electric current

b. Circuits

c. Ohm’s law

Part B: Project

Build a simple circuit and apply Ohm’s law.

Project Title: Simple Circuits and Ohm’s Law

Objective: Demonstrate electric current flow and calculate resistance.

Project Instructions:

  1. 1. Build a simple circuit using a battery, wire, and bulb.
  2. 2. Draw the circuit diagram with symbols.
  3. 3. Measure or estimate voltage and current values.
  4. 4. Use Ohm’s law to calculate resistance.
  5. 5. Consult your coach where necessary.

Evidence to Submit:

  • • Circuit diagram.
  • • Voltage/current values and calculations.
  • • Ohm’s law result.

Submission

Accepted: PDF, JPG, PNG, DOC, DOCX (max 8MB).

Part C: Training Others

Teach a peer about circuits and Ohm’s law.

Guidance:

  • • Explain electric current and circuit components.
  • • Demonstrate drawing a simple circuit diagram.
  • • Guide the learner through an Ohm’s law example.

Reflection:

  • • What did the learner understand well?
  • • What needed more explanation?
  • • What support do you need from your coach?

Submission

Accepted: PDF, JPG, PNG, DOC, DOCX (max 8MB).

Part D: Assessment

Competency Levels:

1 = Expectations not met

2 = Partially met

3 = Satisfactorily met

4 = Excellently met

Coach assessment: Learner completes the self-assessment using the 1-4 scale. The coach prepares a short quiz or conversation (outside the system if needed) and assigns the coach score.

Self-assessment:

  • • Electric current concepts:
  • • Circuit components and diagrams:
  • • Ohm’s law calculations:
